Criminal Code and Case Law:     Special Provisions for Aboriginal People

We offer 24 hour service if you or someone you know has been arrested and requires a bail hearing.

The Criminal Code and case law contains special provisions for aboriginal people. We are very familiar with the law, often referred to as “Gladue”.  We have used this and other legal precedents to defend our aboriginal clients and help them achieve better outcomes.

In regards to child protection cases, the law also takes into account the special circumstances and historical background of aboriginal communities.  For example, the law provides special provisions that as much as possible aboriginal children should not be separated from their culture and traditions. We have experience dealing with these complex cases, we know the legal precedents and can use them in your favour.

We represent clients in the Ottawa, Brockville, Kemptville, Perth, Smiths Falls, Cornwall, L’Orignal, Pembroke and  Renfrew jurisdictions.
